Learning and improving your French
How do you do it?
We have had several members approaching us to ask what opportunities exist for starting or building on competence in French in order to communicate
more effectively with our French friends in Mouvaux. We can suggest two routes :
- (1) Bucks Adult Learning offers many courses at all levels either at the new Buckingham Centre, next to the library, or at the Winslow Centre.
These cost upwards of £88.
- (2) The Buckingham & District University of the Third Age offers members the chance to meet in small
groups during the day, mostly in each others’ houses, to teach each other via course books, a varied programme of articles, recordings and activities
and also through conversation. There is an advanced group and an intermediate group which both meet on alternate Wednesday mornings.
It may also be possible to set up a beginners’ group. In addition, once a month other groups meet for a French Lunch, which involves bringing
a suitably French dish (or cheese or pâté or wine) for a general chat in French while eating convivially. (Great fun - Ed)
